Reading blog posts from trusted sources and using an RSS reader (such as Google Reader) has become a much more efficient and practical way to stay on top of your game.

Norman Wright Jr | Blog JokeOver the years, traditional advertising and marketing methods such as trade magazines, shows and conferences, direct marketing, card decks, press releases, catalogs, etc. has always been the primary source of lead generation.
Well, I’m sure you have seen your “In-Bound Lead Activity” dramatically dropped off over the years. If you are like most, you are probably scratching your head and asking your-self “why?”
Here’s the good news - In most cases, it’s not that people don’t have a need or desire for your products.
Times have changed, people are getting their product information from On-line sources. People are time deprived and can’t justify spending a lot of time reading all the trade magazines that land on their desks to keep up with the latest and greatest in the industry.
Here are 5 reasons why you should consider blogging for new business;
  1. Blogging will position you as an expert: Blogs are about sharing information and cultivating like-minded followers. To be an expert, you need to have people believe in your purpose… you need followers.
  2. Blogging will help increase your SEO Search Presence: Be relentless in your day-to-day postings and make sure your blog posts are written and titled to be “Search Relevant”.
  3. Blogging will help you to shape your message: Be Valuable – Be Relevant! The Battle Ground is in the Mind…. and you need to properly position your-self in the minds of your customers. Your blog will enable you to really think through key issues and benefits facing your industry, products and audience. You can shape your message and their perception of you and your company.
  4. Blogging will help build trust and credibility: People want to work with or buy from people they trust. Show them you care… provide content that educates your customers on the needs, desires and struggles they face on a day-to-day basis. Don’t try and sell your company or your products in your blog posts.
  5. Blogging will help increase New Business: You will expand your online reach and frequency at a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing. You will become search relevant. You will be considered an expert. You will build credibility. You will do more business!
